What is an EGR valve?
The EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve is responsible for recirculating part of the exhaust gas from the exhaust system to the engine intake system. Its aim is to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx), which are one of the main air pollutants emitted by vehicles. The valve has been equipped with a coil that allows precise control of exhaust gas recirculation depending on the current driving conditions and engine requirements.
The operation of the EGR valve is extremely complex. At low engine speeds, the modulator controls the opening of the EGR throttle, allowing more exhaust gas to recirculate. As a result, the combustion temperature is lowered, resulting in a reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions. At high engine speeds, the modulator reduces the opening of the EGR throttle, reducing exhaust gas recirculation and providing more engine power and flexibility.
What are drivers?
Car controllers are devices in the form of small boxes, such as Cummins QSB6.7 EGR valve coil. They have their own processors, memory and software. ECUs used in vehicles perform various functions, the purpose of which is always to achieve optimal operating parameters of the engine and other components.
